Polypipe Building Services has expanded its Terrain FUZE HDPE drainage range with the launch of a new suite of specialist fittings, developed directly in response to challenges raised by installers, consultants and contractors.

Specialist products to resolve real challenges

With ongoing skills shortages across the construction sector and increasing pressure on space within modern buildings, drainage installation has become more complex. Common site issues – from pipe misalignment and late design changes to stud wall placement and restricted service zones – often result in rework, delays and additional cost. The new Terrain FUZE fittings have been created specifically to address these challenges.

Developed following an extensive customer consultation process, the new additions deliver more design flexibility, fewer components, reduced jointing and more compact installations, helping project teams resolve problems quickly and efficiently on site. The extended range includes a variable 110mm bend that’s adjustable between 0–25°, offering greater flexibility and a solution to pipework misalignment issues between floors. A new long radius 110mm bend replaces the traditional method of fabricating bends from multiple components, significantly reducing joints, installation time and space at the base of the stack.

Also introduced is a compact 3-way Boss Branch that fits flush to the floor and allows all three 56mm outlets to be used simultaneously with no crossflow, as well as new 56mm ring seal adaptor bends that combine a bend and socket in a single space-saving component, reducing the number of parts required on site.

    Built with customers in mind

Designed to improve onsite processes, the new products offer a more compact, flexible way to make system adjustments without the need for extensive remedial work, increased jointing, or additional pipework and fittings.

During the consultation and testing process, Polypipe gathered direct feedback from customers. Scott Seabrook, Mechanical Supervisor at Briggs & Forrester, commented:     “The variable bend is the perfect get-out-of-jail card. Our clients hate seeing lots of bends just to line up pipework, and this gives a cleaner finish to a really common problem.”

From initial concept through to final production, the new fittings underwent extensive customer consultation and iterative development to ensure they delivered practical, on-site value.

Chris Goodwin, Product Manager at Polypipe Building Services, said: “Every one of these fittings started with a real problem raised by customers, so it was important that we took the time to get them right. We deliberately extended the development process so we could refine the designs based on feedback. The result is a set of genuinely practical tools that save time, space and cost on site.”

All fittings can be electrofusion or butt-welded and are now available as part of the Terrain FUZE range alongside advice and support from Polypipe’s team of experts.
